Located in a quiet part of Windermere with a relaxed friendly atmosphere, Brook House is a Lakeland stone Victorian guest house built in 1892, offering bed & freshly cooked breakfast from a varied menu using the finest local ingredients. The guest house is accessible with or without a car and close to all amenities; rail/bus station, shops, bars, restaurants, cinema, and internet café.

This is the perfect base for exploring the Lake District, with Lake Windermere just a 20 minute walk away, or a short car or bus journey away to the delights of the English Lake District such as Ambleside, Keswick, Langdale, Hawkshead and Ullswater. Whether you are looking for a relaxing break wandering around the beautiful Lakeland villages or something more adventurous such as walking, climbing or mountain biking you won't fail to be enchanted by the Lakes during the quieter winter season. Try October or November for brilliant autumnal colours, December for superb Christmas shopping, January and February for stunning winter scenery or March and April for the new spring season, with colours blossoming.

The best bit about Winter in the Lake District is that there are less people around so you have more to yourself, and after a lovely day outside there could be nothing better than finding a quaint Lakeland pub, of which there are plenty, with a roaring fire, delicious food and fine local ales.
